Rebecca re-elected to Calgary Philharmonic Board of Directors

Congratulations to Rebecca Finley-Schidlowsky who has been re-elected to serve on the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra’s Board of Directors. Additionally, Rebecca has been appointed as the Board Secretary and will continue to serve on the Governance Committee. Last year, Rebecca led the organization’s strategic planning process which resulted in the development of a 5-year strategic plan. The Plan was developed over several working sessions and included a new Vision “the Calgary Phil belongs to everyone”, and three key Strategic Priorities: 1) Trusted Programming, 2) Community Builder, and 3) Organizational Well-being.

Rebecca is honoured to serve alongside the other Members of the Calgary Phil’s Board.

Highlights from the 2022/2023 Season

  • 77,105 tickets sold
  • 63% of audiences were first time patrons
  • 21% identified as Indigenous, Black, South Asian, East Asian, Arab, or mixed ethnicity
  • Largest age bracket was 35-44 (22%!)
  • 18% of attendees were from outside of Calgary
  • 1,843 members of Cpossibilities (targeted for individuals aged 13-35)

Heading into the 2023/2024 Season, the organization is poised to continue to be a leader in the Calgary Arts Community as the City welcomes people from across Canada and the world.
